Hi, I am Demi, a London-based travel writer. I started travelling solo over a decade ago (but who’s counting), and have visited over fifty countries. Along the way, I turned my passion into a career. I have written about travel and food for The New York Times, BBC Travel, Lonely Planet, The Independent and a long list of other titles.
Travelling for work means being around other journalists. Often we share similar interests, ideas or read the same books. But at the end of the trip we go our separate ways. On the flip side, I always meet women who tell me that they would love to do what I do; travel the world, and have new experiences. So, I decided to bring my two worlds together. That is what inspired the idea for Girls Who Read. I wanted to be in new places with other women who share not only interests but share experiences and build a community.
I now organise small trips around the world where likeminded women travel together as part of our informal book club, eat great food, drink lots of wine, unwind and connect. If that sounds like something you want to be a part of drop me a line. I am ready to welcome you on our next trip.
